Do you wanna know how much it costs to stay 3 weeks in Portugal living in a coworking hotel? I am sharing here real costs of my remote working trip that I took from Finland to Portugal in November 2024.
WHAT | TOTAL COST |
Accommodation in Cascais, 15 nights in a coworking motel | 992 € |
Accommodation in Lisbon 3 nights in a hotel | 309 € |
Flights | 356 € |
Transportations | 201 € |
Food | 573 € |
Activities | 275 € |
Laundry services | 20 € |
ALL TOGETHER | 2 726 € |
What would I do differently now?
There are three things that I am going to do differently next time when I’m going to remote work in Portugal.
1. Skip staying in a hotel in Lisbon. Coworking hotels in Cascais and Estoril are more affordable and it is easy to take a train to Lisbon daytrips.
2. Not spending time trying to find lunch menus. Cheap lunch menus seem to be something that doesn’t exist in Portugal. So instead, eat a proper breakfast and at the lunch time visit a local cafeteria. All the baked products there are tasty and cheap. Eating out late at night is something that locals prefer.
3. Avoid carrying my backpack on stairs. There are often lots of stairs on the underground and train station. An in Lisbon stairs are everywhere. Taking a taxi to Lisbon city center might also be a mistake, because traffic on narrow streets gets often blocked. So this is another reason to book a stay from a city near to Lisbon. Bolt drives are cheap, so no need to stay in the heart of the capital.
Hope this information helps you with planning your own trip!
